First Books For Kids

Way back in May of 2007, the year I released my second Happy The Hodag book, A Monster Misunderstanding, I donated 2 cases of books to the local chapter of First Books For Kids.

I love giving back to my community. Providing free books to local kids so that they can participate in the hodag legend was one of the main reasons I created Happy in the first place.

These are snaps from a book reading I did at the Chamber of Commerce for the Rhinelander First Books for Kids.

Jill is a Designer, Illustrator and Writer living in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. She is also the creator of Happy the Hodag and Buddy the Bulldog, est. 2006.

A long, long time ago Jill Kuczmarski left her hometown in the Northwoods of Wisconsin to attend the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. After graduating, Jill went on to design, write, and art direct for big-city marketing agencies across the upper Midwest. And then she came home. Jill now works for a small, family-owned, award-winning publisher from the Northwoods of Wisconsin and enjoys exploring the near and traveling afar with her husband and daughter.
